AON volunteers take part in ‘Global Service Day’

AON employees Hugo Córdova and Ferdinand Ortiz pitch in to help clean the grounds of the Children’s Hospital.

AON, a global provider of risk management, insurance and reinsurance brokerage, and human resources solutions and outsourcing services provider, recently brought together its employees, their families and clients to celebrate its “Global Service Day” in Puerto Rico.

This year, the activity benefited several nonprofit organizations, namely the Vista Serena Elderly Home — where the volunteers helped develop a home garden and provided entertainment for the residents; the Hogar Cedréz elderly home, where they rolled up their sleeves to help improve the facilities; and the Children’s Hospital to celebrate a “field day” to entertain the children.

More than 206 volunteers donated more than 623 hours lending a hand to the entities, taking on a variety of chores and improving conditions for residents.

The initiative also included coordinating a blood drive, collecting 41 pints for the American Red Cross, as well as a “three-against-three” basketball tournament to raise funds donated to the Aon Foundation.

These activities confirm Aon’s genuine commitment to Puerto Rico and its people, the company said.
