CPAs to host 6th annual construction industry forum

The Puerto Rico Society of Certified Public Accountants will host the 6th annual Construction Industry Forum Jan. 18, kicking off with an analysis of economic trends and prospects for the industry by several local economists.

“The construction industry is an important indicator of our island’s economy. The CPA Society holds this forum to guide colleagues and other professionals on what’s new in economics, finance, insurance and accounting issues related to this industry,” said trade group President Kenneth Rivera-Robles. “It’s one more way in which we contribute to the island’s economic welfare of the.”

Economists José Alameda and Juan Lara and attorney Graham Castillo will expand on expectations for the Puerto Rico and U.S. economies, the industry and the island’s changing demographic profile and its effect on the construction sector. Other panelists will follow to discuss topics such as claims, federal procurement, accounting and auditing and other tax-related matters throughout the day.
