Liberty launches new video product ‘U-Pick’

DevicesLiberty Puerto Rico has launched a new video product called U-Pick, which allows customers to choose their favorite programming by combining groups of channels that appeal to their interests.

U-Pick offers a varied selection of basic channels such as U.S. networks ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox, in addition to favorite channels such as CNN, USA Network, TNT, HGTV, AMC and The History Channel for a fixed price of $39.99 per month. The price includes a high definition box, the company said Tuesday.

Customers can add channel groups to this entry tier in the categories of sports, entertainment, home and tourism, news, movies, learning, kids, and action. Each channel group costs $5 except the sports group, which costs $10. Customers can see U-Pick’s entire entry tier and channel group lineups in the video section of Liberty’s web page.

“This product responds to actual video market trends on the island,” said Gabriel Palerm, vice president of sales, marketing and media of Liberty Puerto Rico. “We have noticed that many customers have shown interest in an English-channel video product that allows them to choose the channels that they want to watch around the $40 per month price range. With U-Pick, customers can make a better selection of the television content that they want to watch.”

U-Pick’s entry tier is available as a single service package or bundled with internet service of 60 Mbps for downloads and 6 Mbps for uploads for $40 more. The offer also includes a new WiFi modem and unlimited phone service throughout Puerto Rico and the United States.

Also effective Tuesday, all bundles with internet service begin with a minimum download speed of 60 Mbps and an upload speed of 6 Mbps. Liberty customers with the “Español de Primera” Triple Pack with 40 Mbps internet speed can upgrade their service to the new higher speed for just $2 more per month and they will receive a new WiFi modem with a larger range.

Customers with the “Ultimate Triple Pack” with 40 Mbps internet speed can upgrade their service to the new higher speed for just $4 more per month and they will also receive a new WiFi modem with a larger range.
