Liberty Business, Liberty Puerto Rico’s business division, has formed an alliance with Microsoft to provide productivity tools and cloud solutions for small and medium-sized enterprises on the island.

“This is an important step in Liberty’s evolution as a business customer services provider,” said Antonio Llona, vice president of Liberty Business. “Microsoft is a company with a widely-recognized brand that is used in one way or another by all business owners in Puerto Rico and this alliance is the union of two very strong brands in the industry. Both of them dedicate themselves to help businesses migrate their services to the cloud.”

The alliance kicked off with the launch of Microsoft Office 365 for small businesses, which allows small and medium-sized business owners to work from anywhere using any electronic devise and stay in touch with their customers from anywhere at any time.

“We created this alliance considering that Liberty is a strong brand when it comes to Internet services and Microsoft is one of the strongest brands regarding productivity software. It’s a perfect way to integrate and cross value between both brands and their customer bases,” said Jose Padró, business developer for Microsoft.

Liberty Business will offer an Office 365 webcast on June 24 at 12 p.m. to offer information on how Office 365 provides the right tools for improved e-mail management, increased productivity with Office’s applications installed in all of the business’ devices and better communication quality between employees, company officials said.

The Office 365 productivity tool will give several advantages to small and medium-sized business owners, including the opportunity to purchase this product with monthly payments instead of an annual contract, which makes it affordable.

“Office 365 is a product that fits our traits and gives customers flexibility so they can be more agile. Our distinction is that we provide our customers local support so the migration experience becomes transparent for them,” Llona added.

“Liberty Business sends an information technology expert who is trained to evaluate customers’ productivity needs, plan and implement the necessary steps to ensure that those customers can operate in their new technology platforms without any problems,” he said.

Current Office 365 customers can bring their services over and pay for them through their Liberty bill without any service interruptions or problems with their Office 365 account. These customers are eligible to receive a discount from Liberty Business for the first six months of service with the company, Liberty said.
