MasterCard, Plaza Las Américas partner for holiday savings

The holiday shopping season is starting early for MasterCard customers, who will be able to get deep discounts on their purchases during one night at Puerto Rico’s biggest mall, Plaza Las Américas.

On Nov. 19, from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m., cardholders will be able to participate in the “MasterCard Priceless Night at Plaza” event, will enjoy exclusive discounts starting at 25 percent off on purchases in several major retailers, said Manuel Catedral, general manager of MasterCard Puerto Rico.

“Christmas is one of the most important shopping times worldwide, and ‘The MasterCard Priceless Night at Plaza’ is another effort that reaffirms our appreciation and commitment to our cardholders,” he said. “We’ll offer them a unique opportunity to get a jumpstart on their holiday shopping and enjoy preferential amenities in a more festive atmosphere than normally experienced during Black Friday.”

Aside from getting discounts, MasterCard “Black” cardholders will have access to a VIP lounge area, valet parking, a $5 discount on a photo package with Santa, and their children will be able to participate in a private breakfast with Santa.

Franklin Domenech, general manager of the mall, said the partnership is “is a natural evolution of a long relationship as both entities are brands that are always at the forefront in terms of unique experiences and offering greater value to our customers.”

“The event is also a major boost for the start of the holiday sales season of our merchants and an opportunity for entertainment and good buys for clients,” he said.

More than 25 stores have already confirmed their participation in the event, and it is expected that the list will grow. Among the participating merchants are: Banana Republic, Bora Bora, Bostonian, Custo Barcelona, Di Morini, Eclectic, Exentrix, Grupo Novus Hecho a Mano, Hugo Boss, Ilori, Journeys, Journeys Kids, Kiehls,Kress, La Gran Vía, Lens Crafters, Lids, Nine West, Pashminas in a Bag, Pearle Vision, Pozzaz, and Valija Gitana.
