Aidiliza Levis, executive VP of Moneyhouse and Noel Berríos, VP of Mueblerías Berríos announce the start of the joint initiative.

In keeping with their philosophies of pitching in to move Puerto Rico’s economic development forward, mortgage bank Moneyhouse and local furniture chain Mueblerías Berríos announced Monday a partnership to help homebuyers through their transactions.

Together, the companies will be offering customers who buy or refinance a home through Moneyhouse free appraisal service, plus a $5,000 pre-approved credit line from Berríos to furnish their property.

Moneyhouse will invest about $40,000 a month for this initiative, company executives said.

“If there’s something on which we agree with Noel Berríos is on the commitment to contribute to a better island; the commitment to offer the best service and the best products,” said David R. Levis, Moneyhouse president. “With that goal and the conviction that Puerto Rico is bigger than the challenges it faces, we see in this business relationship a great opportunity for consumers.”

With the credit line, consumers can purchase the furniture and equipment they need as soon as they’re ready to move in, the executive said.

“We act, helping the island move forward. We are a native Puerto Rican company, blessed by the support of our people, committed to contributing to the aspirations of a people that grows in adversity,” said Berríos, vice president of Mueblerías Berríos, which hast 25 stores and two liquidation centers islandwide.

Levis and Berríos invited other local companies to launch similar partnerships in benefit of Puerto Rican consumers.
