P.R. Convention Bureau snags ‘Smart Meetings 2011’ Platinum Choice award
Readers of Smart Meetings magazine, a monthly publication for meetings and convention planners, have chosen the Puerto Rico Convention Bureau as a winner of the 8th Annual 2011 Platinum Choice Award.
This is the first time in eight years that there is a category for convention and visitors’ bureaus, and the award recognizes excellence in service and amenities in meeting and hotel facilities in Canada, United States, Mexico and the Caribbean.
More than 1,000 properties and organizations qualified for the award, but only a select group met the standards in a range of categories, including ambience, amenities, breadth of resources, facility quality, and guest services, meeting space, meeting packages, recreational activities, restaurant and dining facilities, staff attitude and technical support, the PRCB said Monday.
“Our 2011 winners set the bar high in every way, not the least of which is having staff with a positive, can-do attitude that allows them to exceed expectations across the board,” said Marin Bright, founder and publisher of Smart Meetings magazine.
The elite group of honorees will be celebrated in the publication’s December issue of and on the magazine’s website, www.smartmeetings.com.
