Popular Auto golf tourney raises $40K for charity

Tournament participants were feted with gourmet food and drinks at different stations set up throughout the golf course.

Popular Auto took to the golf course in Dorado earlier this month to raise money for a couple of nonprofit organizations, the El Ave María Children’s home and the Juan Ponce de León New School, which received $20,000 each.

The special event drew some 250 players, who aside from hitting the greens participated in a raffle of a new Ford vehicle.

The tournament responded to the institution’s social commitment through which it actively works to promote the community’s well-being and economic welfare, company officials said.

The donations will help further the causes of the Children’s Home, which gives shelter to children aged three months and older, and the Guaynabo school’s “Jardín de Anaísa” project.
