Skechers USA Inc. and  retailer Shoe Carnival recently donated more than 3,000 pairs to kids attending nine elementary schools in Guaynabo. Company volunteers visited four schools across the city for the first shoe distribution events at the Luis Muñoz Rivera I School, Luis Muñoz Rivera II School, Mariano Abril School and Urbana del Pueblo School.

Five additional schools in Guaynabo also received Bobs shoes for their students: Juan Ramón Ocasio, Alejandro Jr. Cruz, Esperanza Linares, José de Diego and Elemental Santa Rosa III schools.

The 3,000 pair donation was provided through Skechers’ partnership with the K.I.D.S./Fashion Delivers charitable organization and Shoe Carnival, which currently operates seven retail stores in Puerto Rico.

Since the BOBS from Skechers program launched in 2011, more than 8 million pairs of new shoes have been donated to children in need, including nearly 50,000 pairs distributed in the U.S. this month with the help of Shoe Carnival volunteers. Partnering with Head Start programs, education foundations, homeless shelters and 501(c)(3) organizations, Skechers assists children and families in communities across the U.S. and around the world.
